Hello! I'm Jo :)

My friends would tell you I'm a free spirit with a knack for seeing truth & beauty in people. I've taken those attributes and put them to good use as a photographer. I've been behind a camera since I was 12 years old, and it's been my professional career for almost 15 years now (wow, that makes me feel old!).

 

I started my journey as a wedding photographer because I loved capturing people in their happiest, most honest and loving moments.  What can I say? I love...love!! The sentimental joy and excitement of a wedding day really lights me up!

Years have passed and as I developed my flow and photojournalistic style as a wedding photographer, I found myself wanting for more time with my wedding clients, of whom, many had come to feel like friends. So naturally, I decided to dive head first into family photography too! 

​

After many years of capturing newborns & maternity, and countless families and trusting clients, I have built a family photography portfolio that I can be really proud of. There's something so magical about being able to freeze moments in time - the anticipation of a new family member, the sweetness of a newborn baby, the love shared between family members. Adding these abilities to my skillset has afforded me the delightful opportunity to watch my engagement & wedding clients grow and change from blissfully happy couples to strong and glowing parents. Being trusted to follow and capture these families along their joyful life journeys fills my heart with warmth and a sense of purpose.

Now that I'm older (only slightly...), I've easily slid into and taken charge of my professional "era". After years of working within the photography industry, with both natural and studio lighting, I know what it takes to capture a great portrait, and I know the value and power of one. Offering professional headshots and business branding sessions is my new passion. I want to help you create and capture the photos that will not only level up your online presence, but also offer prospective clients an incredible first impression and give them no choice but to reach out to you!
